Cantabria/Supply Class CSS

Region
Spain
Category

The Cantabria (A-15) combat supply ship (CSS) further developed the Spanish Navy’s Patiño, designed jointly by Navantia and Dutch naval architects Nevesbu. Authorised in mid-2005, the Cantabria was delivered on 29 July 2010. Its introduction significantly increased Spain’s ability to project naval forces to conduct sustained operations over large distances. Australia’s Supply Class is based on the same design as the Cantabria and was built by
Navantia.
