The Type 702 Berlin-class combat support ship was designed and built by Flensburger Schiffbau to carry fuel, provisions, ammunition and other materiel to support German Navy ships and provide medical services. The ship is the largest in German service. The lead ship, Berlin, was commissioned on 11 April 2001, and the second ship, Frankfurt am Main, on 27 May 2002. The third and final ship for the German Navy, Bonn, was commissioned on 13 September
2013.
