The Rubin class (Project 22460) will consist of up to 30 planned patrol vessels for the Russian Border Guard. Almaz Shipbuilding Company has been building the vessels since 2007, with the first entering service in 2009. The vessels have also been built by Vostochnaya Verf Shipyard. The vessel is designed to combat surface and airborne targets as well as threats. It can also conduct patrol and convoy escort
duties.
