The Arialah-class OPVs have been designed and built by the Dutch company Damen for the UAE Critical Infrastructure and Coastal Protection Authority (CICPA). The two OPVs are similar to Damen’s ‘sea axe’ designs for commercial ships and were first delivered to the UAE in February 2017. The vessels will be used by the CICPA, which combines military and coast guard functions, for maritime security, law enforcement, offshore patrol and SAR

missions.
