Two Pattani-class OPVs are in service with the Royal Thai Navy, the first having been commissioned in 2005 and the second in 2006. The ships are fitted with a helicopter landing deck and hangar. The principal role is EEZ patrol and maritime border protection, but HTMS Pattani was deployed to the Gulf of Aden as part of an anti-piracy group in late
