Alexandrit Class (Project 12700)

The Alexandrit class (Project 12700) is planned to consist of 30 mine countermeasures vessels for the Russian Navy by 2050. Being built by Sredne-Nevsky Shipyard, the first ship was delivered in December 2016, with a total of 11 on order so far. The Project 12700 vessels feature the largest fibre-glass body in the world and have been designed to provide mine protection of naval bases, coastal sea areas and ships, as well as lay, detect and destroy
mines.
