The HCX-19 concept vessel was first revealed by Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) at MADEX 2019, standing for Hyundai Combatant eXperimental 2019. It was created to show South Korea’s HHI’s vision of what surface combatants will look like in the 2030s. The design was shown in two concepts, a drone mothership and a ‘ship class’ encompassing the concept of a corvette, frigate and destroyer. The design has since been followed by HHI’s
