Roussen Class (Super Vita)

The Hellenic Navy’s Roussen (Super Vita) fast attack craft missile (FACM) programme has been beset by stretched delivery schedules and slowed by the country’s financial problems. Based on an improved variant of the BAE Systems Super Vita boat, Greece ordered a total of seven ships. However, the delivery process is best exemplified by the fourth and fifth of class that were launched in 2005 and 2006 but not handed over until 2010 and 2015 respectively. The sixth and seventh vessels looked doubtful but were resumed in
2016. Six are now in service, with the seventh and final vessel expected around 2021.
