The SDB MK 5-class ships are large patrol vessels designed and built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers for the Indian Navy. Originally, the first four ships commissioned were referred to as the Trinkat class (T 61-64). The T-62 was transferred to the Maldivian Coast Guard in 2006, and the T-63 and T-64 were both transferred to the Seychelles Coast Guard in 2014 and 2006 respectively. Four more vessels (T 65-68) were commissioned later and referred to as the Bangaram class. As patrol vessels, the ships in
this class conduct anti-poaching, fisheries protection and SAR missions.
