The Visakhapatnam-class (Project 15B) destroyers are a follow-on class to the Kolkat a-class (Project 15A) destroyers for the Indian Navy. The Project 15B programme was approved for the Indian Navy in 2011, and the vessels are being built at Mazagon Docks Ltd, the same shipyard as the earlier Kolka ta-class destroyers. The first vessel, the Visakhapatnam (D66), was delivered to the Indian Navy on 28 October
