The Type 075 programme aims to introduce vessels with a displacement of 36,000t, length of 250m and capable of carrying up to 30 helicopters into service. The LHD ships will be built by Huangpu-Zhonghua, which is owned by the China State Shipbuilding Corporation. Under rapid construction, the first vessel has been launched, with a second also under construction. It is unknown how many vessels the PLAN intends to acquire, but China is unlikely to have fewer than three LHDs in
service.
