The MSS 1.2 medium-range ATGW was developed to meet the requirements of the Brazilian Army and Marine Corps for a missile that can defeat armoured vehicles, bunkers, infantry, small boats and helicopters. The MSS 1.2 launcher can be mounted on vehicles. The MSS 1.2 consists of the missile and launcher tube coupled to a firing unit. The lightweight system is easy to transport and its beam-rider-type guidance is highly immune to countermeasures, according to the company. The Brazilian Army ordered an initial batch of
48 firing posts, each with 12 missiles, while the Brazilian Marine Corps ordered 12 firing posts, with six missiles each. Deliveries began in 2012. The total Brazilian requirement could exceed 400 systems by the end of the decade.
