M141 BDM

Region
Norway
Category
Ammunition, Missiles and precision weapons
Originally developed and fielded as the SMAW-D (Shoulder-launched Multipurpose Assault Weapon-Disposable) to meet the requirements of the US Army, the service redesignated the weapon the M141 Bunker Defeat Munition (BDM). The M141 has been in US Army service since 1999. The BDM uses an HE dual-purpose warhead, packaged in a lightweight disposable launcher. Each round has a fuse that automatically selects the proper detonation mode to maximise destructive
effects.
