The 7.62mm Type 81 light machine gun (LMG) is the squad support variant of Norinco’s 7.62mm Type 81 assault rifle that was introduced into the People’s Liberation Army service from 1981. It is fitted with a folding bipod and can be fed from its own 75-round drum magazine or the standard 30-round box magazine used with the Type 81 assault
rifle.
