The SV-98 (Snaiperskaya Vintovka Model 1998) is a bolt-action 7.62mmR sniper rifle, based on the Record 300 sporting rifle series, which has been in the Russian military and law enforcement service since about 2003. Early versions were made with wooden stocks; modern versions are offered with an adjustable chassis-type stock. It is equipped with a MIL-STD-1913 rail on the top. In Russian service, it is usually used with the 1P69 3-10x optical
