The RS9 is a specialized version derived from the bolt-action RS8 sniper rifle and is specifically designed for .338 Lapua Mag ammunition. In February 2016, CG Haenel secured a contract to deliver 115 modified RS9 rifles, designated as the G29, to the German Armed Forces. These rifles are intended to equip Special Forces units with a medium-range sniper rifle. The top receiver of the RS9 features a full-length STANAG 4694 NATO Accessory Rail, complemented by shorter rails positioned at the three, six, and nine
o'clock positions.
