Since the semi-automatic 50cal M82A1 anti-materiel rifle was introduced in 1982, it has been acquired by military and security forces in around 70 countries, including the US which designates it the Special Applications Scoped Rifle (SASF). The US Army also employs the weapon as the M107 long-range sniper rifle. The M82A1 CQ has a short barrel. A barrel change enables the weapon to fire a 416cal Barrett cartridge with increased
velocity.
