The A3 is the current production model of the 5.56mm AUG, one of the first bullpup rifle designs to enter production. Since 1979, the AUG has been fielded by more than 30 countries. Designed as a modular family, the AUG can be adapted for different roles by changing barrels. Variants include a heavy-barrel automatic rifle with a folding bipod and a submachine gun chambered for 9x19mm
ammunition.
