IWI’s 5.56x45mm X95 rifle (also known as the Micro-Tavor) is a further development of its Tavor bullpup rifle family that entered into service in 2006. The X95 Flattop rifle/carbine features either a 330mm barrel or a 419mm barrel that is compatible with the IWI 40x46mm Stand Alone Grenade Launcher. The IDF selected the X95 to replace its M16 rifles and M4 carbines in 2009 and began issuing the weapon in 2013. The X95 is available with either a pistol grip or with an X95 customized trigger guard, has 360° Picatinny
rails and is fully ambidextrous. A semi-automatic version is also available for the commercial market.
