The X95-R Flattop rifle/carbine is a member of IWI’s X95 bullpup rifle family chambered to fire the Soviet-designed 5.56x39mm round. The IDF selected the 5.56x45mm X95 to replace its M16 rifles and M4 carbines in 2009. The X95 family has been successful on the export market and the X95-R Flattop 330 and 419 broadens the appeal for customers who either produce or have large stockpiles of 5.56x39mm ammunition.
