The 7.62mm FN SCAR-H was developed to meet a US Special Operations Command requirement for a modular, multi-calibre combat assault rifle capable of engaging targets at extended range. In USSOCOM service the weapon is designated MK17 Mod 0, and the broader SCAR family has been exported to more than 20 countries. The SCAR-H features a side-folding adjustable stock, a free-floating MIL-STD-1913 rail for optics and accessories, and a rotating bolt design derived from the AR-18, providing a balance of accuracy,
durability, and ergonomics suited to special operations missions.
