The Ophir SWIR and NIR 25-250mm continuous zoom lens is designed for unmanned systems and aerial thermal imaging gimbals, compatible with 5, 10, and 15 micron SXGA and VGA short-wave infrared detectors. Weighing 860 grams, it provides vehicle detection ranges exceeding 26 km and has been chromatically corrected to cover the 0.7 to 1.7 micron SWIR and NIR wavelength range with minimal distortion. A unique environmental coating enables reliable operation in harsh, humid, and salt-air conditions typical of maritime
and airborne ISR platforms. The dual f-number design — f/5.5 at narrow field of view and f/4.0 at wide field of view — supports long-range target detection and wide-area search in a single low-SWaP lens suitable for UAV and manned aircraft tactical imaging payloads.
