The Ophir LightIR 16-180mm f/3.6 is a compact continuous zoom mid-wave infrared lens for 10 micron VGA focal plane array detectors, featuring a folded optics design that reduces physical length while maintaining an 11x zoom range and vehicle detection distances exceeding 13 km. At 460 grams, it is well suited for size- and weight-constrained airborne ISR payloads and tactical thermal imaging gimbals. Integrated Ophir zoom controller electronics provide automatic focus compensation over temperature and zoom, NUC
focus blurring capability, and full manual and automatic zoom and focus control. High MTF performance across the zoom range supports mission requirements from wide-area search at the short focal length through to long-range target identification at 180mm.
