The Benelli M4 was developed as the US Joint Service Combat Shotgun, adopted into US military service as the M1014. The 12-gauge semi-automatic design uses Benelli's patented Auto-Regulating Gas-Operated (A.R.G.O.) system, which is self-cleaning and functions reliably without adjustment across a wide range of ammunition types.
