The Cryogenic RF Attenuators & Terminations is high-performance attenuators & terminations for cryogenic RF applications. Spectrum Control’s fixed attenuators and terminations are engineered to maintain reliable RF performance at temperatures as low as 4 mK, with frequency operation up to 40 GHz. Designed for advanced applications in quantum computing, aerospace systems, and defense operations, these components are built to MIL‑PRF‑38534 Class K standards. They are available in both coaxial and chip-based
configurations, providing stable attenuation and low thermal noise characteristics in cryogenic environments. Unlike conventional thin- and thick-film resistor technologies, Spectrum Control’s in-house cryogenic thin-film design ensures consistent resistance without becoming superconductive or insulating. These attenuators and terminations are optimized with non-magnetic materials, exhibit minimal self-heating to achieve target temperatures faster, and are offered in standard attenuation values. Models support SMA and 2.9mm connectors and operate across a range of frequency bands, with design kits and samples available on request. The product line includes coaxial attenuators, SMT attenuators, and coaxial terminations, offering stable attenuation, low thermal noise, and minimal self-heating to enable faster temperature stabilization in cryogenic environments.
