K1A

Category
Law enforcement, small arms and protection
The 5.56mm K1A is described by S&T; Motiv as an SMG because it was developed to meet a Republic of Korea Army (ROKA) requirement to replace the US-supplied 45cal M3 SMG, but it would generally be considered a carbine by most military users. The K1A can fire in semi-automatic, three-round burst and automatic modes. It is equipped with a telescopic buttstock and a short barrel. Approximately 180,000 K1As have been produced for the ROKA and several export customers, including Bangladesh, Papua New Guinea and
Senegal.
