The BLACK BIRD System are communications drone launcher system for deepwater submarines. The BLACK BIRD system equips deepwater submarines with a UAV-launching capability that allows the vessel to collect vital real-time data above the surface while remaining submerged for maximum covertness. The system utilizes a compact quadcopter drone launched from a tubular underwater vehicle that provides it to the surface and ejects it using compressed air, as well as a communications antenna relay that floats on the
surface to transmit data from the drone to the submarine.
