The ARK DIST SR is a compact, USA-made, distance sensor module engineered for applications where size, weight, and power (SWaP) efficiency are critical. Built to NDAA-compliant standards, it connects via DroneCAN or MAVLink and uses the Broadcom AFBR-S50LV85D Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor to measure distances up to 30 meters. Its performance remains consistent in ambient lighting conditions as bright as 200k lux, supporting reliable
operation in varied environments.An integrated 850nm laser light source projects a 2° x 2° beam that illuminates between one and three pixels, while a reference pixel provides continuous system health checks. With a 12.4° x 6.2° field of view and 32 pixels, the module offers flexible coverage for multiple sensing requirements. ROS2 support and UAVCAN firmware updating simplify integration with advanced control systems and enable straightforward updates in the field.Interface options include two Pixhawk Standard CAN connectors (4-pin JST GH), one Pixhawk Standard UART connector (6-pin JST GH), and one Pixhawk Standard Debug connector (6-pin JST SH). The module’s form factor measures 2.8 x 2 x 1.4 cm, with a weight of only 4 g. Power is supplied at 5V, drawing an average of 84mA and peaking at 86mA.Each ARK DIST SR is delivered with a 4-pin Pixhawk Standard CAN cable and a 6-pin Pixhawk Standard UART cable, along with integrated LED indicators for at-a-glance status updates.
