The 9mm P229 Combat is a variant of the P229 family optimised for military use. It features a flat dark earth finish on its alloy frame and a Nitron finish over the stainless-steel slide. Internal parts and controls are phosphated for corrosion resistance, and the barrel is hard-chromed and finished in Nitron to pass military accuracy requirements. The P229 Combat has also passed a 240h salt spray corrosion
test.
