The FN MAG 58M is a single-barrel, fully automatic 7.62x51mm NATO machine gun configured for pintle mounting in rotary-wing aircraft. It is a dedicated airborne variant of the infantry FN MAG general-purpose machine gun, designed from the outset to meet the higher cyclic rate and durability demands of helicopter door-gun and cabin-mounted applications.
