Description
The FN M3M pintle weapon system integrates the .50 calibre FN M3M (GAU-21) machine gun with spade grips, a medium pintle head with soft mount, a 300-round ammunition box with feed chute, an operational links collector, and a day/night vision device in a complete crew-served installation. The soft mount absorbs recoil to improve operator comfort and accuracy during sustained fire. The system is designed specifically for helicopter door-gun and cabin roles, providing aircrews with a high-rate-of-fire heavy machine
gun capability that can be brought to bear rapidly against ground targets and hostile aircraft.
