The Mokopa, named for the Black Mamba, is a South African long-range precision anti-tank missile developed as a locally produced alternative to the Hellfire for integration on the Rooivalk attack helicopter operated by the South African Air Force. The weapon uses laser guidance to engage armoured targets at stand-off range. Produced by Denel Dynamics, the Mokopa provides South Africa with a domestically developed, self-sufficient precision strike capability for its rotary-wing fleet, reducing dependence on
imported guided munitions for the Rooivalk's primary anti-armour role.
