The Lynx is a twin-engine, light utility helicopter developed from 1968 by Westland (now Leonardo) under the terms of an Anglo-French helicopter agreement to meet the military requirements of the two countries. More than 450 aircraft, in both battlefield and shipborne configurations, were built for customers in 17 countries. Older variants remain in service in eight
countries.
