The C-37B is the most recent Gulfstream business jet adopted for US military service and follows on from the C-37A, a military version of the Gulfstream V. The C-37B is based on the G550, a low-wing jet powered by two turbofan engines equipped with thrust reversers capable of all-weather, long-range, high-speed, non-stop flights. The aircraft is used for the worldwide special airlift missions for high ranking government and DoD officials in the US. It is powered by two BMW/Rolls Royce BR710A14-10 high bypass ratio
turbofan engines for C-37A or two BMW/Rolls Royce BR710C4-11 engines for C-37B, producing a thrust of 14,750 pounds or 15,385 pounds per engine, respectively.
