The An-132 is a multipurpose transport aircraft based on the Soviet-era An-32. It is being jointly developed by Antonov and Saudi Arabia’s Technology Development and Investment Company (TAQNIA) Aeronautics to meet the needs of Saudi Arabia, following an agreement in April 2015. Planned roles include cargo and troop transport, airdrop of cargo and troops, as well as medical evacuation roles. On 17 June 2015, it was announced that a manufacturing facility will be built in Saudi Arabia. The aircraft’s first flight was
performed in March 2017.
