Turkey’s Undersecretariat for Defence Industries signed an agreement with Turkish Aerospace Industries in March 2006 for the Hurkus Turkish Basic Training Aircraft development programme. Three configurations are planned: Hurkus-A is the basic aircraft; Hurkus-B is an advanced version with integrated avionics, including a HUD, multifunction display and mission computer; and Hurkus-C is an armed version. Hurkus is a low-wing monoplane design with a stepped tandem cockpit configuration. Hurkus-A made its first flight in
