The Hindustan Turbo Trainer-40 (HTT-40) is a basic trainer aircraft developed by Hindustan Aeronautics to meet the training requirements of the Indian Air Force. The HTT-40 development programme began when the earlier HPT-32 Deepak fleet was grounded after a series of accidents. The aircraft recorded its maiden flight in May 2016. It is powered by a Honeywell TPE331-12B turboprop engine producing 950shp
