In September 2016, prime contractor Boeing and partner Saab unveiled their new T-7A Red Hawk aircraft for the USAF’s T-X programme. The first aircraft, T1, was used for the unveiling ceremony, and T2 was seen under construction in a hangar. A further three aircraft will be built as part of the flight test programme. The aircraft features twin tails, stadium seating and a full glass reprogrammable cockpit with embedded training. It is powered by a General Electric F404
