The T-5 Yung Yin (Brave Eagle) is an advanced jet trainer being developed by the National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology’s Aeronautical Systems Research Division to replace Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC) AT-3 Tzu Chung advanced trainers and F-5E/F fighters, which have been acting as lead-in fighter trainers in Republic of China Air Force service. AIDC will manufacture the new aircraft. The platform is powered by two Honeywell/ITEC F124-200TW turbofan engines, each producing
around 6,250lb (2,835kg) of thrust.
