The Su-57, previously known also as the T-50, is a fifth- generation single-seat stealth multirole fighter developed under the Russian PAK FA (Future Air Complex for Tactical Air Forces) programme to replace the Su-27/30 Flanker fleet. The T-50 prototype was shown for the first time at MAKS 2011. Serial production began in August 2018, after a contract was awarded to supply the aircraft to the Russian Air Force. The aircraft was expected to enter service by the end of 2019 but was delayed due to the crash of the Su-57
test aircraft in December 2019. A total of 76 Su-57s were ordered by Russia, with the scheduled deliveries expected to be completed by 2028. Its export configuration, the Su-57E, was unveiled to the public at MAKS 2019. The Su-57 is powered by two AL-41F1 turbofan engines.
