The J-20 (NATO reporting name Black Eagle) is an indigenous fifth-generation stealth fighter developed by China. The J-20 programme began as J-XX (Project 718) in the late 1990s. The aircraft performed its maiden flight in January 2011. It was unveiled to the public during Airshow China 2016 and entered service with the PLAAF in 2017. The J-20 is powered by two Shenyang WS-10G turbofan
engines.
