MID (maszyna inżynieryjno-drogowa – road engineering machine) is a tracked armoured engineer vehicle (AEV) for the export market based on the chassis of OBRUM’s PT-91-series MBT, itself a derivative of the T-72. OBRUM built eight MID AEVs for the Polish Army and three MID-M models for the Malaysian Army. The prototype was developed in 1991. This was followed by trials through the rest of the decade and production started in the late
1990s.
