Otokar presented the 8x8 Arma prototype in 2011. The Arma provides protection against ballistic and mine threats by means of a monocoque V-shaped high-hardness steel hull. It is equipped with blast-resistant seats. The Arma is offered in numerous configurations, including APC, IFV, command and weapon carrier. Additionally, it is air transportable by C-130 aircraft in standard configuration. In 2021, as part of the bid to supply the Turkish Land Forces’ New Generation Wheeled Armoured Fighting Vehicles programme,
Otokar revealed the Arma 8x8 NG variant, which brings with it a number of improvements over earlier versions of the vehicle already in service.
