The Wheeled Amphibious Armoured Platform (WhAP) is being designed and developed in collaboration with India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) to meet an Indian Army requirement for a wheeled IFV. Tata plans to offer five variants: IFV/APC; ambulance; NBC reconnaissance; command post; and combat engineer. Originally called the Kestrel, the WhAP can be equipped with a variety of weapon stations and turrets. Depending on the selected turret, the vehicle will carry a driver, commander, gunner and a
section of up to nine soldiers.
