The Bushmaster 4x4 was developed between 1995 and 1999 to meet the Australian Army's requirement for an Infantry Mobility Vehicle providing high protection, sustained speed, tactical mobility, and situational awareness for a section of up to ten soldiers. Following the first production contract in June 1999, Thales has delivered vehicles to Australia and multiple international customers. The Bushmaster's V-shaped hull and blast-attenuating seats provide proven protection against mines and IEDs, validated through
operational service in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other theatres, establishing the vehicle as one of the most combat-tested protected mobility platforms in its class.
