The Kamaz-53949 Taifun-K (Typhoon-K) is a 4x4 MRAP vehicle manufactured in Russia by Remdiesel, a subsidiary of Kamaz. Originally developed in 2010 as a private venture to meet a Russian Army requirement for an MRAP-type vehicle, its reliance on Western components caused it to suffer from the effects of sanctions placed on Russia. Nevertheless, the vehicle has since been offered to the Russian Army and foreign users in its standard troop-carrying configuration. It is capable of accommodating up to ten personnel and
is available in a variety of other variants, including an ambulance and ATGM carrier.
