The Mbombe 4 is the 4x4 variant of Paramount’s Mbombe family of mine-protected vehicles. Capable of carrying up to 11 personnel, the Mbombe 4 shares up to 80% of its components with the 6x6 and 8x8 versions of the Mbombe family, intended to reduce through-life operating and support costs. Equipped with a unique flat-bottomed armoured hull, the vehicle can protect its occupants from the equivalent of three 10kg TNT explosions under the vehicle and a 50kg side blast. In India, a version of the vehicle known as the M4
or TC-20 is marketed by the Kalyani Group under a JV formed with Paramount Group.
