The Persistent High Altitude Solar Aircraft (PHASA-35) is a solar-electric, high-altitude, long-endurance UAV produced by BAE Systems and Prismatic. The solar panels give the platform the potential to remain airborne for up to one year. The platform is designed to provide a persistent, stable platform for monitoring, surveillance, communications and security applications. Depending on the payload attached, the platform can be used for disaster relief, border protection and surveillance at lower costs than
conventional satellite systems. The first successful trials of PHASE-35 were carried out over the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Woomera Test Range in South Australia in 2020.
