Unveiled in November 2016, the Katmerciler Hizir is a 4x4 APC designed to offer a high level of ballistic and blast protection in a highly mobile platform. In its standard APC configuration, it can accommodate an Aselsan SARP remote weapons station and up to nine occupants. Alternatively, it can be adapted to perform different roles such as a surveillance vehicle, ambulance or command post. One such specialised surveillance variant designated Ateş has been adopted by the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs for
monitoring Turkey’s borders with Bulgaria and Greece.
