The 125mm-armed T-14 Armata is the latest MBT to be developed for the Russian Army. In late 2013, UVZ began trials of early prototype/pre-production models that were publicly shown for the first time in the Victory Day parade in Moscow in 2015. The Russian MoD said in 2015 that it intended to acquire 2,300 Armatas by 2020. However, in August 2017, the Russian Army said that it would give immediate priority to modernising its T-80 and T-90 MBTs. An estimated 20 T-14s have been built for
trials.
